Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCE PAULINE ZARAZUN
It is with profound sadness that the family announces on May 27, 2024, Joyce went to be with the Lord and be reunited with her husband Stan and son Patrick. Her sudden passing has left us heartbroken.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Brenda (Bill) Sullivan; granddaughters, Cherlyn (Jason) Bergen and Krysty Sullivan; and her most adored great-grandchildren, Liam and Quinn. She also leaves to mourn her passing, her brother Wayne (Barb) as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband Stan, son Patrick; parents, Steve and Mary Olynuik; brothers, Eugene and Rhine and sister Jeannie.
Joyce was born and raised in Saskatchewan. In 1957, she married the Love of her Life, Stan, and moved to Winnipeg. Joyce and Stan were loving and dedicated parents to Patrick and Brenda. Joyce loved baking, cooking and planned many family events. She worked part-time at Hagemeier’s Clothing Company while her children were growing up. She then worked full-time for many years at Kaplan’s Manufacturing, in the clothing textiles industry, until her retirement. Joyce and Stan were founding members of Holy Redeemer Parish.
Joyce was a devoted mother, grandmother and Baba. She was a kind and gentle woman with a fierce determination to live. She loved her family and friends and always put them first before herself. She always found time for a phone call to stay connected with those in her life, right up until the end of her life. She accepted everyone for who they were. She loved everyone she met and was loved by all who met her.
Mom spent the last year of her life at Donwood Manor, a place that she was so proud to call her home. She told us on a continual basis how much she “loved where she lived and that there was nowhere else that she would rather be.” Special Thanks to Dr. Kyle Hancock and all the staff at Donwood Manor for all their love and compassion. You all made the last year of Joyce’s life so amazingly beautiful. We will be forever grateful for all of you being a part of her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Eternal Grace Funerals, Unit 10-1111 Logan Avenue.
Flowers are gratefully declined. To honour Joyce’s memory, love and care for your family and friends and spread kindness wherever you go. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Donwood Foundation at donwoodmanor.org or Victoria Lifeline.
Thank You for teaching us to
Live Simply, Speak Kindly and
Love Generously.

Both Joyce and Stan were ever so welcoming to me being a new staff at Donwood. They always had a kind word and expressed how grateful they were for the caring staff. They spoke often about their daughter Brenda who was a blessing in caring for them. Her dedication to them was truly inspirational. May you rest in peace Joyce. - Posted by: Michelle Stanton (Friend) on: Jun 15, 2024

Joyce and Stan were dear friends of my parents Elsie and Myron. I fondly recall celebrations when we got together. Brenda and Patrick combined with Brian and I would have fun playing while our parents chatted. Elsie will miss her dear friend. We are comforted in knowing that Joyce is now with Stan and Patrick. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Brenda. - Posted by: Lawrence Shack (Friend) on: Jun 12, 2024

I worked at Donwood and had the pleasure of meeting both Stan & Joyce. They were truly two of the kindest, most gracious people I ever met. They always stopped in my office to say hello, pass their compliments on a meal they enjoyed or a fair critique of one that might not be their favourite. They encouraged everyone they met. I’ll hold them in my hearts forever. Brenda you were such an inspiration caring so deeply and consistently for your folks with deep love and patience and always a kind word or thank you to staff. May your memories sustain you ❤️ - Posted by: Leigh Carriere (Friend) on: Jun 01, 2024
