Helen Johnstone (nee Smale), 102 of Winnipeg, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2024.
A proud army veteran who served in the 1940's at a nursing station in Vancouver after the Second World War. She was a telegraph operator at CNCP on the corner of Portage and Main.
Helen was an active member of her sorority Beta Sigma Phi for over 50 years and made many lasting memories.
She is predeceased by her husband Roy 2001. She is survived by their children Robert and Wendy, granddaughter Mickenzie and great-grandson Ifedayo.
Helen's family requested a Celebration of Life to be held in her honour as opposed to traditional funeral services.
We request all of Helen's friends and family to join us in celebrating her long beautiful life, Fort Rouge Community Centre 725 Kylemore Avenue, Winnipeg, July 7, 2024 from 12:00-2:30 p.m.
The family would also like to thank The Parkway and West Park Manor for their years of love and support.
