GALBERT ALEXIS (BRODS) WEEKES

August 12, 1945 – June 24, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announced the passing of our father, brother, uncle, and friend.

Galbert (Brods) will be lovingly remembered by his four children and grandchildren, sister (Annette), nieces (Camille, Corinne, Natasha), nephews (Terry, Dale, Oliver), sister-in-law (Carlita) and many other relatives and friends in Canada, the United States, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Brods was deeply involved in the Caribbean Community in Winnipeg. He served on many Associations, including the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Association of Winnipeg Inc. Brods was a great cricketer, a crowd pleasing D.J., as well, an amazing domino player.

Many thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital and Seven Oaks Hospital for the care and attention given to Brods during his illness.

The family invites you to his viewing at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy, on Sunday June 30, 2024 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Cremation will take place the following day.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I remember Alexis very well. He was a great friend to myself and my family. We met around 1980 and remained friends until I left Winnipeg 11 years ago for another Province. We talked on the phone long distance. I know how much he loved The Lord as I also attended Pilgrim Baptist church. I would occasionally meet with Wilma for lunch when she worked for the government. I worked one block over from her. My condolences to the family. I shall miss him dearly. - Posted by: Carol Kawaza (Friend) on: Sep 25, 2025
