Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA FLORENCE FELBEL
Having lived a full and happy life, Anna (Florence) Felbel passed away on January 27, 2024, at the age of 96. She will be lovingly remembered as wife, mother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
Florence was born to Juliana and Emil Frohwerk in Grahamdale, MB on July 10, 1927, where she lived and worked on the farm with her four brothers and five sisters. She also worked as a domestic for families in the area.
Florence married her "one and only" Ted Felbel from Moosehorn, MB on November 22, 1947. They resided in East Kildonan for some 65 years providing a loving home for their two sons, Dennis and Alan.
Florence had a varied career. She worked as a short order cook at A&W, knitted sample sweaters for Eaton's and The Bay, and was a salesclerk at Clifford's on Portage Avenue.
Florence spent many years following Ted's band, HWY 6. She loved to dance and knew all the old time steps.
In the mid-1970s, Ted, family and friends built a cottage at Silver Bay on Lake Manitoba. Florence loved cottage life where she could cook and bake to her heart's content. Saskatoon pie was a speciality.
Since 2020 Florence resided at Riverwood Square where her sister-in-law Fae Frohwerk also lived. They were affectionately known as the Golden Girls by staff and residents.
Florence will be lovingly missed by her sons, Dennis (Claudette Gaudry) and Alan (Joyce Stabner), grandchildren, Curtis (Cheyenne Beaudry), Christopher, Lucas (Emily Sabetta) and great-grandchildren, Quinn and Rylee. She is survived by her sister Laura Perrault of Calgary and many nieces and nephews.
A reception will be held in the Ashern Legion at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2024. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will follow the reception at Good Hope Cemetery, Faulkner, MB.

I was so lucky to have had Florence as my Aunt and my Godmother. Her and Uncle Ted were a strong influence and inspiration throughout my life. From their place in East Kildonan, to cottage life at Silver Bay and in later years at Riverwood Square, Aunt Florence was always there with a smile and a good word. If that was followed by a Fridge Roll, and a White Rum and Dark Coke that was even better. Aunt Florence never forgot my birthday taking her godmother responsibility seriously, and even undertook the road trip to Montreal for Elizabeth and my wedding. I know Uncle Ted really enjoyed the side trip to Ottawa to see his name on the wall at RCMP HQ. Unfortunately Elizabeth and I will be out of the country and will miss her celebration of life but our thoughts will be with Dennis and Alan and all the Felbel and Frohwerk clans. She will be missed but always remembered as she moves on to heaven telling Ted where to drive her. Dean and Elizabeth Frohwerk - Posted by: DEAN FROHWERK (Nephew / God Son) on: Jul 16, 2024

I had the great pleasure of working with Florence for seven years in the 1970’s at Cliffords Ladies Wear, Portage & Kennedy. Florence graced the main floor of the store and was a senior sales clerk. Florence was tall, elegant, always impeccably attired, and I remember her great smile and great laugh. I am saddened to read of Florence’s passing and extend my sincere condolences to her family on the loss of this very good woman. - Posted by: Karen (Shreiber) Howell (Cliffords Co-Worker) on: Jul 13, 2024
