SHANE OWEN DOBSON

October 14, 1958 – July 11, 2024


It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shane Owen Dobson at the age of 65 years.

Shane was born October 14, 1958. He was the youngest son of Bill and Margaret Dobson of Manitou, Manitoba. He leaves to mourn his wife of 45 years Jackie, daughter Shannon (Jordan) Ilott, son Nicholas (Jill) Dobson and son Joe (Brooke) Dobson. He was a very proud grandfather to Kade, Jerzey, Chase and Blake. Special Manitou grandpa to Wren.

He also leaves to mourn brothers Ron Dobson, Ken Dobson, Barrie Dobson Joe Dobson, Neil Dobson, Dale Dobson and Marie Allan, brother-in-law to Dorothy Dobson, Marg Remillard, Brenda, Rosie, Jennifer Dobson and Darryl Allan. Grant, Allison and Kim McLean and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Jean, brother-in-law Lorne McLean and brother Mac and nephew Kevin and sister-in-law Florence.

Shane worked for the Department of Agriculture in Alberta and Manitoba. He was a very intelligent man and a well-respected colleague and treated his fellow employees with respect and kindness.

He fought a great battle with pancreatic cancer for two years. He passed away on July 11, 2024, at the Boundary Health Centre. He was laid to rest at the Manitou Cemetery on July 17, 2024.
