• We have such fond memories of Wayne, especially as a young boy when we lived close, and then in later years as a young man. We have many memories of Wayne, his brother Jon and cousins Don and Chris when they were young: Playing together, laughing, giggling, and when our daughter was born his kindness to her. We moved away, but shared adventures on our visits home. We remember the year Wayne, Jon, Don and Chris visited for a month. It was great as they participated in the pool activities: swimming, diving and tennis. Also, they taught us a bit about their favorite game, Dungeons and Dragons which they played with some pool friends. We enjoyed our visits watching Wayne develop into a very kind man to all, adults and also the younger children. I can still see him sitting on the stairs at Mom's at a family gathering, laughing and joking with the younger cousins. He made them feel valued. His kindness continued throughout his life. We were sorry to have missed Wayne's last visit to Virginia, but our children enjoyed their time with him as the cousins shared memories and experiences. When we visited him in Winnipeg shortly after, we were lucky to have long talks, even talking until 11.30 pm the first day. He demonstrated thoughtfulness and courage as he faced his future, even planning his next adventures as he fought his battle with cancer. He especially appreciated all that his family was doing for him, and stayed late at the family gathering at Gwen's, joking and sharing memories. • I will miss Wayne. He was the first of my nephews. His life ended too soon. I remember his mainly in his younger doing many things with his brother Jon and cousins Don and Chris. They seem to have a lot of fun together. Jadwiga and I offer our condolences to Mary and his surviving siblings. Sorry we missed his service. We will be thinking of him here in Edmonton.
