Peacefully on July 2, 2024, our mother, Evelyn Smith, went gently home into our Lord's hands.
Evelyn was born April 14, 1940 in Kamsack, Saskatchewan to her parents, John and Mary (nee Yawney) Malynyk.
She is predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Anne Malynyk, Nora Rublitz (Mike), Steve Malynyk (Dorothy), Elsie Hryhoriw (Mike), Helen Cymbalisty (Walter), and Henry Malynyk.
She is also predeceased by her husband Brian Cyril Smith and her eldest grandson Liam Tristan Sean Smith.
She is survived by her children Sean Smith, Kevin Smith and Marnie Easton (Mike), and her grandchildren Jennifer Smith, Chloe Smith, Sarah Herms (Josiah), and Noah Easton.
Evelyn was deeply devoted to the church, and was passionate about gardening, cooking and traveling. Evelyn had an incredible gift of feeding and caring for all. She loved nothing more then serving those around her with her fabulous food. She was famous for her perogies, borscht, beetniks, roasts, pies, and so much more! Having an invite to Evelyn's was always a special treat! If you didn't find Evelyn in the kitchen she would be in her beautiful garden. She had green thumbs and toes! Everything grew and flourished in her care. Evelyn deeply loved her Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Her faith was deep and she shared it freely with those around her. She walked in faith and not by sight!
We love you Mom and thank you for doing your very best. You are cherished and will be missed dearly by many.
