STELLA THERESA MAZUR

(nee KONDRAT)

May 25, 1937 – July 28, 2024

On Sunday July 28, 2024, with her loving daughters by her side, Stella Mazur of Winnipeg passed away. Stella was predeceased by her husband Walter and beloved son Dennis. She is survived by her daughters Debbie (Rick) and Susan.

Mom was born on May 25, 1937, to Tennie and Peter Kondrat in the small rural town of Olha Manitoba.

Mom married at the tender age of 17. Reflecting on her early marriage she often said she was "too young" but together with Dad created a close, warm and loving family.

We three children grew up along with Mom, many hours were spent around the kitchen table where each of us talked to Mom about our dreams and plans for the future of which she would dream along with us, always encouraging us to pursue whatever would make us happy. She cherished these moments, and every opportunity to be able to spend time with her family. Her family was her life.

Mom pursued a career in retail, she enjoyed working with people showing professionalism and respect to her customers but also to her colleagues. She was recognized with many service awards throughout her career. Mom's love and support were boundless, she gave so much of herself not only to us, to work colleagues, family and friends, anyone who was lucky enough to know her, soon became a friend and member of the family.

After retiring and the passing of Dad, Mom with her special furry companion Penny (cat) focused on her creative side, designing and making quilts and blankets with Penny now her constant companion, sitting on the edge of the quilting frame with a watchful eye on the work at hand.

Mom loved to bake and garden and would plant one large enough to feed half of Winnipeg, and of course with her generous nature was happy to share it with friends, family and even delivery people. If you happened to drop by her home when she was baking or harvesting her garden, rest assured, with a huge smile on her face you would not leave empty handed.

Mom loved to give and to give with her heart. She showed us the beauty of hard work, the joy of sharing and the strength of companionship that will forever inspire us.

Mom, we will deeply miss your

never-ending unconditional love,

your beautiful smile, your laughter, and the many shared jokes over a glass of bubbly, but most of all we will miss you.

A private family graveside service and Celebration of Life were held on August 2, 2024.

In memory of Stella a charitable donation may be made to Parkinson Canada.

  • In my younger years living in Winnipeg, she was always super kind & generous to the bone! Often concerned as to my plight & journey as a young naive soul! A wonderful Aunt & those memories will live on! - Posted by: ALAN MAZUR (NEPHEW) on: Aug 11, 2024
