SKYE HARTE

1945 - 2024

Skye passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Hospice Quinte on July 29, 2024 in her 79th year after a 14 year courageous battle with cancer.

Loving mother of Kevin, Jim and the late Neil Harte and survived by her daughter-in-law Heather. Proud grandma to beautiful and adored granddaughters, Raquel and Keira Harte. Beloved sister of Liz Hundevad. Skye is predeceased by her chosen son Ron Pereux. She will be fondly remembered by her soul sister and angel, Ann, her many friends, and the many cousins and family members in the clan.

Skye was born August 23, 1945 at Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario to Jim and Anne Hundevad. The family moved to Pine Falls, Manitoba in 1960. She attended University of Winnipeg, before marrying Daniel Harte and had three sons who were the bright lights of her life. In her later years, she returned to Ontario, finally settling in Trenton, close to many family and friends.

Musically gifted, playing organ for church services at 12 years, music consumed much of her life, teaching organ, piano and voice, performing in many concerts and with several music groups and bands. A voracious reader, who also liked Scrabble and crosswords. A life long passion for horses, and never happier than being in the saddle, reading and dreaming about horses, and was so sad to leave her last beautiful horse River. "Remember me when young racing the wind on a magnificent thoroughbred across the prairie on a moody Manitoba morning".

Feros Ferio...I fought the fierce.

We would like to express sincere appreciation to Dr. Parks, the doctors and staff at Kingston Cancer Centre, Belleville Hospital, and Hospice Quinte.

Cremation will take place and a graveside service will be held at Stone Cemetery, Warkworth on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 1:30 p.m.

If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Wildlife Federation or Covenant House Toronto would be appreciated.
