Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • I could not believe the loss of Aunt Debs. She was such an integral part of my formative years and even up to her passing, and now, I hold dear to my heart. She often called to check in and say hi, and it was always a joy to see her face and have amazing conversations with her. My dad and I even went to see her in Winnipeg in July of last year and Aunt Debs was thrilled! She was overjoyed to see us! We even went to the local family owned restaurant George's, and got to have lots of fun and laughs as we tore into our meals. She was such a loving person who loved her family more than anything, she always made you feel at home no matter what. I will miss her always, and hope that she can rest peacefully. I only wish I could have seen her one last time before her passing. Miss you Aunt Debs, we all do...<3 - Posted by: Kristian Torchia-Gaudin (Grandson) on: Nov 05, 2024

  • So sorry to hear of the loss of my cousin Debi. To Shelley, Jeffrey and Terry, plus her loving son Tom and family; my heart goes out to you. Debi and I became close texting cousins a number of yrs ago. She was very close to my Mom, Margaret Poulin (nee Provost) many years ago. I had moved in with Mom to care for her during her last few years. Once the care giving became too much for just myself to handle, Mom went into Long Term Care. I saw my Mom as much as possible that first year. Then Covid hit. I went to see Mom as much as possible, so I would send photos of mom with a thumb’s up after we completed many puzzles together. Debi died too young. I was recently away for a break from caring for someone who needed to get into Detox, so in these last few months, we were not in touch. I regret that. But we had many a laugh and many a tear shed via phone calls, but most recently by texting because talking on the phone was difficult for her. Her health did not make living very easy, but she certainly enjoyed seeing her little grandson Georgie. She is now up in the heavens where she can reunite with her family members who have passed already. To Tommy, you were her best friend I believe. So to all who knew and loved her, I am sorry for your loss. I shall miss our long talks, but I know we’ll meet again up in heaven one day. I hadn’t heard from her since mid-summer, and just returned from a short trip to get a break from care-giving again. Imagine my shock and surprise to learn of her passing. Recently, she was in so much pain, she is free from her pain. Debi is no longer suffering at all. She was a good friend to me. Miss you cousin Debi. You are finally pain-free for good. No more doctors or new meds to try. Thanks for all of your advice. Love, Désiree (Desiree Albrecht, nee Villemaire and daughter of Margaret Poulin, nee Provost. - Posted by: Desiree Albrecht (Cousin ) on: Oct 02, 2024
