LORE STEVENSON

It is with deep sorrow that we Commemorate the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Lore Stevenson; August 9, 2023 at Concordia Hospital at the age of 90.

Lore is lovingly remembered by her children, Sylvia Corrigal (Cliff), Edward Stevenson, Kathy Plikett, John Stevenson (Shirley), and Tracy Stevenson (Brian). Siblings, Klara Overton and Heidi H. Cotey. Grandchildren, Jason Blackburn, Lenny Blackburn (Jasmine), Ryan Stevenson (Lisa), Tiana Plickett, Ciara Plikett (Mitch), Andrew Stevenson, Sean Stevenson, Brady Stevenson, Hanna Stevenson, Karl Stevenson, Joe Stevenson, and Kiara Lukiw. Great-Grandchildren, Kyla Blackburn, Alicia Blackburn, and Julienne Clarito. Nieces and Nephews, Sonya, Randy, Kelly, Mike, Earl, Diane, Allan, and Cory. She is predeceased by her Husband Norman Stevenson, sister Gretal and parents Margaret and August Hemming.

Lore was born on June 10, 1933 in Stuttgard, Germany. She wanted a better life for herself and her young daughter, like many during that time, and came to Canada in 1954, where she met her husband of 66 years Norman Stevenson. She loved her family immensely and enjoyed being with them most whether it was for family gatherings, birthdays or vacations. She loved unannounced pop-ins and shared her home with family members whenever needed for however long, always providing them with homemade meals and treats, as well as enjoying company to watch her mystery shows with. She was a lover of nature and animals, enjoying road trips and rescued countless wildlife throughout her life. She was also a big contributor to many charities.

She was always a woman full of surprises. In her 60s she decided to take up painting as a hobby and it was! It was a surprise to everyone, except herself, that she was very good at it. No one had ever seen her paint or draw much before and her paintings had everyone in awe. Her happiest times were hosting her family at Christmas in her home, her many travels to visit her sisters, and driving through the mountains, with her dogs by her side.

The family wants to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital N1S for the care they had given to Lore in her time of need.
