DAVID JOSEPH WILLMAN

April 4, 1963 - August 13, 2024

Suddenly, on August 13, we lost our much-loved father, son, brother and uncle, David Willman, on Hwy. 68, near Arborg, MB, at the age of 61.

Preceded in death by his brother John Craig, and stepdad Ed Craig, Dave leaves to mourn his children, Abby and Nolan (Ferrah) Willman; mother Jenny Craig; father Gene (Cheryl) Willman; sisters, Melanie (Shawn) Greene, Brandi and Nikki Willman; nephew and niece, John and Sylvie Greene; and many more cherished family and friends.

Dave was a genuinely nice guy, with a good heart and witty sense of humour. He always had a way of making people laugh and would light up a room with his dimpled smile. Dave loved fishing and the outdoors, often catching pickerel and bringing them home for Christmas. Dave was devoted to his family and cared deeply about his community and the state of issues in the world. He was born and raised in Winnipeg’s North End where he shared a close bond with his grandma, Lidia Lukawiecki. Dave was also an avid dog lover and hockey fan, who enjoyed playing hockey with his brother. Dave loved his children unconditionally, sharing in long talks and biweekly homemade pizza and movie nights with his daughter and proudly attending his son’s wedding this past June.

Honest and generous hearted in nature, Dave was a hard worker with a strong work ethic. He worked at Bathfitter for many years after receiving his pipefitting diploma at Red River College. After losing his brother tragically in a car crash, Dave wanted to make the highways safer by becoming a semi-truck driver. He made his family so proud when he achieved that goal by receiving his professional Class 1 driver’s license in 2011. Dave was known to be a very safe and cautious driver on Manitoba’s Highways for the past 13 years.

In lieu of flowers, please honour Dave’s memory with a random act of kindness to help make the world a better place.

A service celebrating David’s life is planned for Tuesday, September 3, at 11:30 a.m., at E. J. Coutu & Co. Funeral Directors, 680 Archibald with interment to follow at St. Mary’s PNCC Cemetery, 360 McIvor Avenue.

Until we see you again, rest in peace.

May perpetual light shine upon him.
