MYRNA SYLVIA FITCHETT

(nee HARRISON)

December 20, 1937 – August 17, 2024

After a brief illness, Myrna passed away peacefully with family at her side.

Myrna was predeceased by her loving husband Bill. She will be sadly missed by her four children and their families: Janice; Jeffrey; Keith; and Kathryn; as well as her brother Grant (Trudy); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Myrna grew up in rural Manitoba, and spent most of her life in Morris and Winnipeg. She was a dedicated nurse and managed the Red River Valley Care home in Morris. She was also an active member of the community, church and Eastern Star, volunteering long into her retirement years.

According to Myrna's wishes, she will be cremated. A family service and interment will be held later this year.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Special thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital ER, ICU, and 8th floor. Myrna would have approved of your care, compassion, and professionalism.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Myrna was my neighbor for over 20 yrs. She was always sharing her amazing garden veggies. She loved to get out in her garden. She loved dogs as well she met my Zoey and my crazy cats who ventured into her yard. I will miss our chats over the tall fence. I wish I would have said Goodbye... - Posted by: Carol Smith (Neighbor) on: Dec 03, 2024

  • My deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Myrna and the Eastern Star family. I know she will be missed by everyone. Myrna's smile came from her heart. She was always willing to help where she could and had kind words for us all. I will keep her in my thoughts fondly. - Posted by: Andrea Mauws (Former Eastern Star member) on: Aug 21, 2024
