CORPORAL MALCOLM IAN MCIVOR

June 10, 1963 - August 15, 2024

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our father, son, brother and friend, at the age of 61 years. He leaves to mourn his children Keylee and Darren (Brittany) and two beautiful grandsons Greyson and Emmett, his father Malcolm Edward, brother Clinton, sister Pamela (Glenn) and sister Heather (Joey). Predeceased by his mother Suzette, both sets of grandparents, great-nephew Malcolm Aaron and numerous aunts, uncles and extended family members.

Born in Nipawin Saskatchewan, Ian grew up to Lynn Lake Manitoba. He finished school years in Thompson, Manitoba where he attended Riverside School and RD Parker Collegiate Manitoba where actively involved in the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, which lead him to a career in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He did Basic in Borden Ontario. First posting in Cold Lake Alberta (seven years); Comox, British Columbia (three years), Winnipeg (seven years), Moose Jaw Sask., where he retired from team services for The Snowbirds in 2004. Many Planes, many friends, and experiences during his career. Ian was recently employed with Winnipeg Richardson International Airport when he was hospitalized.

He was still drawn to life of Aircraft, their sounds and smells and a routine that involved those of his favourite things. He fought a courageous battle and will be irreplaceable in their lives. A big thank you to the Palliative Care team that made life a little easier for Ian.

Viewing will take place at Wojcik’s on 1020 Main St., 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, service at 11:00 a.m. and reception/ fellowship to follow. It will conclude with the procession to Interment at Brookside Cemetery.
