DAVID SAMSON
Sadly, a limb has fallen from our family tree. David Samson, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother passed away surrounded by his family at Riverview Palliative Care on Saturday, August 10, 2024. David will be missed by his wife Sharon of 65 years; children Rick, Rod (Alison); grandchildren, Rikki (Travis), Ryan, Shae, Shelby; step-grandchildren, Logan, Shyanne, Tanner; and his devoted sister Sylvia (Frank).
David spent his working career with Canada Packers, prior to retirement. A hardworking man, he established his own maintenance business for a number of years thereafter, before stepping away to dote on his four loving grandchildren. It wasn't long before David decided to return to the workforce once more, with Holy Eucharist Parish Centre.
In retirement, David dedicated his time to various interests and hobbies, such as the River City PT Cruiser Club. This chapter brought him immense joy as he forged many friendships, won show trophies and took pride in customizing his car. For 15 years, both David and Sharon would look forward to spending their winters in Puerto Vallarta, together. It was here they would create many cherished memories and meet many more long-lasting friends from both the United States and Canada.
David enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing, gardening and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Above all, David's love and dedication to his family was unmeasurable and unconditional, especially the love he had for his four grandchildren.
David never failed to make you laugh and always had a great sense of humour which will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to CancerCare Manitoba.
