OLGA BOYKO
It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to Olga Boyko aged 100 of Winnipeg Manitoba. An angel came and called her name. Her warm smile, curiosity, energy, spirit and kindness will be missed by anyone that met her.
Olga was born on January 26 1924 in Berzane Ukraine, immigrated to Canada in 1949 and built a life with her husband John (Ivan) who predeceased her. Olga’s last place of employment many years ago was the Sharon Nursing Home.
She is survived by her son Terry, nieces and nephews Elaine, Linda and Myron in Pennsylvania.
Gardening, reading, her religion, walks in the in the park, rides in the convertible, cooking were some of her prized activities until she passed. Olga was an active member of Saints Vladamir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church well into her mid 90’s
Olga was active until her passing, living in her own house, making her own meals, looking after her garden and home. We would like to thank all the home care workers that supported her and let her live a life of independence and dignity in her own home until her passing.
Funeral service to take place on Wednesday August 28, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow at All Saints Ukrainian Cemetery at 4515 Main Street West Saint Paul on Thursday August 29 2024.
