It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Carole Vermette, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 73 years.
Carole will be lovingly remembered by her children, Linda Bouchard, Roger (Tracey) Vermette; sisters, Odette Bouchard, Marlene (Frank) Hunter; brother, Marcel (Maggie) Bouchard; sister-in-law Kathy Bouchard, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bert Vermette; parents, Eolie and Estelle Bouchard; brother, Clement Bouchard; sister, Yogi Liwiski; brother-in-law, Bob Meisner as well as several members of the Vermette family.
Carole was an apartment manager for 47 years in St. Vital, loved gardening and spending time with family and friends, especially her great-grandchildren Dean and Delilah. Carole was the epitome of kindness, caring and empathy. She was the funniest person in the room, especially with her perfect “franglais” that added so much character to her humor.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Odette, an angel, who provided incredible support, exceptional care, unwavering compassion, selflessness and kindness to Carole during her illness. As well as the Palliative Care nurses at St. Boniface Hospital for their outstanding dedication and care.
In keeping with Carole’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street.
