It is with profound sadness that we the family announce the sudden passing of Jiri Dubec on August 23, 2024, at the age of 44.
Jiri is predeceased by his father-in-law Herman Dranez and his brother Rene Dubec.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Desiree, sons, Eryian and Ashton, mother Linda Dubcova, stepfather Mike Joyal and mother-in-law Susan Dranez. He also leaves brothers and sisters-in-law, Shane and Rachelle (Leksi and Brody) and Derek and Lindy (Ava and Ryker).
Jiri was born in the Czech Republic and immigrated with his mother to Canada when he was seven years old. He spent his early years in Alberta before settling in Winnipeg, MB and attended St. James Collegiate where he made lifelong friendships.
Jiri met his wife Desiree through his future brother-in-law Derek when working together at Derrick’s Sandblasting. Jiri and Desiree spent over 17 years together and created a wonderful life with two beautiful sons. They travelled to many places making lasting memories that will be forever cherished.
Jiri worked at Derrick’s Sandblasting as a frame technician for over 20 years. He was a dedicated and hardworking man. His boss, Derrick, was like a father figure to him and he was very close with all his coworkers.
Jiri had a passion for restoring old trucks, especially low riders. He also had a love for custom motorcycles and enjoyed riding. Any animals he came across recognized his kind heart, and he always loved his dogs.
