YVETTE LAFOND

(nee MARION)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our sister, sister-in-law and aunt, Yvette, on August 31, 2024, at Riverview Health Centre. She met the challenges of her last few years with remarkable grace and peace.
She was born on June 2, 1937, in St Jean-Baptiste. She married her love and partner, Jean-Paul, in November 1961. They lived and worked their farm in LaSalle for over 50 years. Together they built a beautiful life.
She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Rose, Clémence and Gilles, sisters-in-law Marcelle and Marielle as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Yvette was pre-deceased by her husband Jean-Paul, her parents Adélard and Ernestine, parents-in-law Alphonse and Florida, brother Denis and in-laws Adélard, Thérèse and Romeo, Margaret and Fernand, and Yvon.
We would like to thank the staff for the compassionate care given to Yvette on 2west Chronic Respiratory Unit at Riverview Health Centre. We are also grateful for the care given by Drs. Paquin and Madi and MaryBeth Respiratory Home Care Coordinator.
In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba, Manitoba Humane Society or a charity of your choice in her memory would be appreciated.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Dr, on September 11, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • We were saddened to hear about Yvette's passing. In the early years our families got together often to celebrate important events such as Christmas and weddings. Yvette was a gentle soul who was always cheerful and kind to all of us cousins in the St. Pierre family. As the years passed, we unfortunately saw less and less of our cousins, including Yvette. Even though we have not been in touch for many years, we will remember her with fond affection. - Posted by: St. Pierre family (cousin) on: Sep 11, 2024

  • Dear Ma Tante Yvette, Rest well with mon oncle JP, toujours ensemble. You will be missed 💕 - Posted by: Patricia Dickieson (Niece ) on: Sep 08, 2024
