Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROGER VERNON TUCK
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Roger Vernon Tuck on August 7, 2024, at the age of 85, with family by his side.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Nancy, daughters, Bonnie (Bryan), Tracey (Glen); grandchildren, Craig (Jessie), Kenny, Bryce (Amber), Kyle, Gary (Jannelle), and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Emily, Brody, Rory, Sophia, Levon, and Bowen; and brother Reg (Pat).
Roger was born and grew up in Peterborough, Ontario and lived there until his enlistment in the Air Force which brought him to Winnipeg in the late 1950s. It was here he met the love of his life, Nancy. He established a long and successful career in the early years of computers and I.T., settled down in Transcona, and built a strong and loving family.
While family was Roger’s highest priority in life he had two other passions: Blue Bomber football and travelling the world. It was through these passions that he cultivated an incredible circle of friends who loved him dearly, almost as much as he loved them.
Roger was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He always had time to get down on the floor with every and all of his grand/great-grandkids. There was no one who loved his wife more and he cherished every minute of his precious time with Nancy whether it was on their many travels, working together in the garden, or out for a quiet dinner for two.
Roger’s love for life was contagious. Live, love, laugh, and enjoy a cold beer!
We would like to thank all the caregivers at St. Boniface Hospital for the kindness, compassion, and care they provided.
A private family funeral service and interment have taken place. Honorary pall-bearers are Glen Armour, Bryan Burron, Ken Sello, Tom Caramanos, Jeff Epp, and Brian Beitz.
A Celebration of Life open to all is planned for October 28, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the Four Points Sheraton, 2935 Pembina Highway. A short program will be followed by a come-and-go afternoon/evening to tip a glass, enjoy some great food, and share stories and memories in Roger’s honour.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
