Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • We met the Oberdings while we were young couples in North Battleford, Sask. when we moved to Winnipeg in 1992, we again reconnected. Barb and I did many long walks, and solved the world, and everyone else’s problems - (sounded quite reasonable at the time). Enjoyed a few visits with them at Matlock. Our condolences to the family, may you be comforted by memories of her quick wit, and love of life. - Posted by: Bill and Barb Patmore (Friend) on: Dec 01, 2024

  • David and family so very sorry to read of Barbara’s passing. We have many great memories of the 4 of us as we started our married lives - many many years ago! Our deepest condolences. Bert and Sandra Kline - Posted by: Sandra & Bert Kline (Old friends) on: Oct 06, 2024

  • Condolences to my Uncle David and family in loss of his beloved wife Barb. - Posted by: Gardner Walters (Nephew Chesterfield Inlet ) on: Oct 05, 2024

  • Condolences to my brother David and family. From Lois, my son Gardner and David - Posted by: Lois Walters (Barbara was my brother wife) on: Oct 05, 2024

  • David, Rob, Leslie Anne, Carrie Lee and extended family. Such a joy to have known Barb. Many wonderful Matlock memories to hold onto and smile at as we reminisce. She was surely a gatherer of people and loved to initiate and participate in interesting discussions especially over a glass of David’s home made wine, well maybe anyone’s wine! Such a long journey for you all. Our thoughts are with you. Gary and Carol Guest. - Posted by: Gary and Carol Guest (Friends) on: Oct 04, 2024

  • Dave and all the Oberding families. My sincere condolences. So many fond memories of times spent at the lake with Barb and Dave and all your families. I will miss Barb's smile, her fun-loving ways and kind heartedness. May many memories sustain you. - Posted by: Lorne Thompson (Friend) on: Oct 02, 2024

  • We cherish our memories of times spent together with Barbara & David. Many of those occasions seem to include making or drinking wine. One fun trip to Grand Forks in particular comes to mind. More recent the visits at our campsite were always a lot of fun. After we moved to Sandy Hook Barbara & I walked many miles at Winnipeg Beach attempting to remove those extra pounds. I’m still working on that Barbara. Rest in peace. Donna & Ken - Posted by: Ken & Donna Chura (Friends) on: Sep 30, 2024

  • Little did I know how profoundly my life would change that day, so many years ago, when I first met Barb. It was as if a door opened and the light shone through, a brilliant light that never turned off. She had such an incredible sense of humour and delivery that delighted everyone she met and given ten minutes, she could easily meet twenty people who would seamlessly become friends. It was my honour and privilege to have had her by my side sharing life’s joys and struggles My deepest condolences to David, Rob, Carrie Lee, Leslie Anne and their families and to all who loved Barbara Jean. - Posted by: Carol DeLuca (Friend) on: Sep 28, 2024

  • Our heart felt condolences go out to Steve and Susan and the entire family. Dianne & Ron Dirr, Sandy Hook, Mb. - Posted by: Ron Dirr (Friend of brother Steve Oberding) on: Sep 28, 2024
