Ed was born at Winnipeg Beach. He farmed in the Melnice area and worked at Teulon Hospital. He and Joyce moved to Winnipeg and he became a sales rep for a dry cleaning company, selling machines and supplies. He bought his own cleaners, Minit-Cleaners and then Fabri-Care. Due to his health he sold and retired.
When the children were small he enjoyed camping and fishing. He was a big supporter of his children’s sports and a supporter of the Community Centre.
Ed was a member of AA for 58 years.
Ed married Jean and they bought a trailer in Mesa, Arizona where they spent their winters. He enjoyed fixing the trailer, playing bean bag and shuffleboard. Due to health, they sold and stayed in Winnipeg.
Ed married Sharon in 2012 and again bought a trailer where they spent their winters. They travelled to California and Mexico. Due to health, again he sold and stayed in Winnipeg.
Ed became involved with his grandkids and hockey; he didn’t miss many games.
Ed was a kind, generous and loving man. He loved life, friends and family. His smile will never be forgotten and will be missed. He had a great life and lived it to the fullest.
A special thank you to the home care workers who came every day to help him. He enjoyed their coming.

Ed and my husband Michael were best friends from the time they started school. They would spend hours talking and telling stories. Ed would spend a lot of time at Michael’s hospital bed before Michael passed in Nov / 2005. They’re together again. - Posted by: Dollie Maksymyk (Friend of the family) on: Oct 12, 2024
