It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Chizu Ito (nee Nakata). Chiz passed peacefully on Tuesday, October 2, 2024.
Chiz was born January 3, 1931, in Steveston, British Columbia; she and her family were relocated to Manitoba in 1942. In 1958 Chiz married Yosh and had two children, Keri and Todd.
Chiz lived happily in Winnipeg for many years, raising her family, participating in the community and church and enjoying sports. Chiz retired to British Columbia in 1996, enjoying golf, curling and other hobbies prior to her return to Winnipeg in 2020.
Chiz was predeceased by her husband Yosh and four siblings. She is survived by her daughter Keri Bruce (Steve); son Todd Ito (Karen); and her two grandsons, Taylor Bruce (Bridget) and Conal Bruce; along with brother Andy Nakata; and sister Teri Nakata.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Deer Lodge Centre and Concordia Hospital for their care and support.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no services held.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of both Chiz and Yosh. We have many fond memories of them from both Oliver and Kelowna, and always think of them when we go to the Spaghetti Factory.
