Art was fearless. I once saw him walk on an 'I' beam eleven stories up in Lanigan, Saskatchewan as casually as as a day in the park. Another time, coming home late Friday night south of Gladstone we came over the hill right into a herd of deer. Art casually swerved and at 80 miles an hour missed everything. How he missed all those deer was beyond me. I turned and said "You do this lots don't you." Art calmly said, "Farm boy." Art was the type of friend that when we met on the next job, we continued our conversation he and I were having six months ago on the last job. Our work was transient, our lives were transient. So we looked for something constant that we could hold onto. For us, our constant was friendships with men like Art Willis - Posted by: Rick Ranson (Old friend, co-worker) on: Oct 10, 2024
