DAVID GRAHAM PATON

After complications due to cancer and a brief final illness, Dave passed peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 2, 2024.

Predeceased by his dad, mom, brothers, and sisters, he is survived by his loving wife and partner of 64 years, Wendy. He will also be deeply missed by his girls: Nancy, Erin (Jamie), and Margret (David); and his grandchildren: Fiona, Jackson, Wesley, and Lachlan. He leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews.

A talented athlete through his life, Dave will be remembered by many friends from his years on the golf course, on the curling ice, and any sport surface he touched. Many students and colleagues will recall "The General" at Hapnot, who commanded respect in the classroom and halls and, in turn, dedicated himself to making sure his students thrived – whether they wanted to or not.

Dave will be laid to rest at a private burial in the family plot in Kenora, Ontario. As per his wishes, there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
