Elaine Denmee (née East), of Brandon, MB, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Wawanesa Personal Care Home, at the age of 83 years.

Enid Elaine East was born on the family farm near Neelin, MB, on June 14, 1941. She was an only child to Clifford & Wylma (Cooper) East. Her fondest childhood memoires were of playing with her cousins.

After graduating from Killarney School in 1959, she attended secretarial school in Winnipeg and soon after got a very fateful job at the Wawanesa Mutal in 1961 where she met her husband, Doug. She and Doug were married in 1963 and Elaine continued working until 1966 when she became a full-time homemaker.

Their son Darren was born in 1966 and their daughter Leanne was born in 1969. Once the kids were older, Elaine returned to work at the Mutual in 1983 until she retired in 1994. Once retired, Elaine & Doug enjoyed travelling where they made lifelong friends on their many bus tours & trips. In 2015 they sold their house in Wawanesa and moved to Rotary Villas in Brandon.

Elaine leaves to mourn her loving husband of 61 years Doug Denmee, son, Darren Denmee of Calgary, AB, daughter, Leanne Malyon (Doug Davis) of Brandon, MB, grandchildren, Kyle Malyon (Dani Zalusky) and Zachary Long; family friend Chuck Long; nieces, Debbie (Randolph) and Judy; and by many special cousins and friends whom she considered family. She was predeceased by her parents Cliff & Wylma East.

A Celebration of Elaine’s life will be held at a later date.
