I am saddened to hear of Lil’s passing. She was a wonderful, warm and caring individual. Frank and Lil opened their home and hearts to me as a teen and young adult and later to my husband. Many great sleepovers were had with Laurie and Miles and perogy making days and trout fishing and fantastic meals and dinner conversation. She loved her job as a librarian and mother and was an all around care giver to whomever dropped by. My heart and thoughts go out to Frank, Laurie and Miles! - Posted by: Sandi and Gord (Friends of family) on: Nov 13, 2024

Sorry for the late condolences but I would be remiss in not saying something about how wonderful, welcoming and bright Aunty Lil (as I referred to her) was to those she invited in. I have and will always treasure some of my best childhood memories of being able to go for a week to Uncle Frank and Aunty Lil's country home. She always prepared amazing food with a smile on her face and a sprint in her step for Miles, Laurie and myself after a day of playing and enjoying their country space including a field we used to drive an old Buick around in. She is missed dearly by many I'm sure but never will be forgotten. - Posted by: Cindy Rosolowich (Cousin) on: Oct 26, 2024

My sympathies to the Socha family on the passing of your wife, mother, and grandmother. I was a student at the Dugald Elementary School from 1970-1976, where Mrs. Socha made the library such a welcoming place and fostered a love for books and reading. As a classmate of Miles, I have fond memories of her making gingerbread for his birthday parties. Always delicious! I'm so glad to read of her travels and interests, may those memories comfort the family. If Miles has a chance on a future visit in Manitoba, I'd like to see him again (pls contact me via LinkedIn). - Posted by: Monica Ptak (long-ago friend of Miles) on: Oct 22, 2024

As one of Miles’ university friends, I visited Lillian and Frank’s home many times. They were both so friendly and lovely, and Lillian would make delicious meals for us - we’d be stuffed with her great cooking every time! I have the fondest memories of those visits to their home in Dugald. My condolences to Miles and the rest of the family. - Posted by: Lisa Keller (Friend) on: Oct 21, 2024

I worked with Lil at the Anola School for many years. She was the most competent librarian during all those years. She was kind, friendly and did so much for the staff of the school including getting the coffee on before our breaks. RIP Lil. Deepest condolence to Frank, Laurie and Lloyd - Posted by: Vickie Emms (Friend/Former Colleague) on: Oct 21, 2024

Lillian was our keeper of the library for many years at Anola School. She loved this job and gave it her best. She knew the student and the books they loved. My condolences to Lloyd and family. - Posted by: Laurie Sodomlak (Former Anola colleague ) on: Oct 19, 2024
