After a brief illness, Donald Kowal passed away on October 16, 2024 at the age of 87.
Donald was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Anne, his wife Irene, son Grant and sister Dorene. Donald is survived by his sons, Greg (Thalie) and Scott (Karen), grandchildren, John, Cameron (Kayla), Wesley, Ewan and Dana and great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Alexander.
Dad retired after a long career at CPR. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed many summers at Sandy Hook and winters in Texas. Although slowed by dementia he never lost his kind demeanor.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Burrin Avenue. Private interment will follow.

My deepest condolences to Scott and Greg and family. We were next door neighbors for our entire childhood and teen years growing up on Gilia Drive. It seems like a lifetime ago. I have many memories of Don playing ball with you guys, as he was quite a sports enthusiast. Grant and I played together as kids growing up. My mom knew Don from the north end. My brother Glenn grew up with Greg and the other Kowal sons, in Garden City. A lovely family and Don was a friendly gentle man.
