JANICE BISSETT
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Janice Bissett on October 17, 2024, at the age of 82. She was predeceased by her husband Jim, and parents, Irene and Raymond Moore.
Janice is lovingly remembered by her two children, David (Wendy) and Darren (Meaghan), and grandchildren, Janine, Madison, Brooklyn, and Brandon. She leaves her sister Jo-Anne and brother Glen, and nieces, Jolie, Dana, Kelly and nephew Richard. Janice will be deeply missed by her great-nieces and nephews, cherished friends, and her fellow Red Hatters.
Janice was born at the Grace Hospital on May 13, 1942, to Irene and Raymond in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She grew up in the town of Cartwright and after graduation moved to Winnipeg to attend college. She was employed for over 30 years at FBC (Farm Business Consultants).
When she retired, she took care of her grandchildren, was a devoted supporter at her grandchildren’s sporting events, volunteered at Deer Lodge Senior Centre, spent time with her lifelong friends and embraced life with her Red Hat sisters.
Janice’s loves throughout her life were her family, caring for her flowers, playing games, Elvis, and wiener dogs. She enjoyed travelling with her sister and entertaining guests, which often included a Sorrento salad. Janice loved getting together with her walking group and old high school pals. Cartwright always had a special place in Janice’s heart.
A Celebration of Life will take place in the Spring where she can be reunited with her family in Cartwright.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare.
