Agathe, our matriarch, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024, at Riverview Centre in the loving presence of her husband Gabe, her daughter Rachelle, her three sons and their spouses, Phil (Tammy), Joel (Denise), Jude (Joanne), her seven grandchildren, Alyssa (Kevin), Katie (Jonny), Emma, Natalie, Vinny, Jasmine, Loic, and her great-grandson Avery.
Also left to mourn are her siblings, Marcel (Lucille), Simone (Roger), Claude, Marie, Marguerite (Raymond), Paul (Laurie), Lucille (Bob), Hélène (Deny), Gabby (Shelley), Danny (Nancy). Agathe was predeceased by her parents, Ernest Desrosiers and Yvonne (née Tétreault) and her brother Bernard.
Born on November 23, 1953, Aggie was patient and kind with all the children she encountered. Her grandchildren and great-grandson all loved sleepovers at Memzi's. She spoiled them whenever they visited but especially on birthdays and Christmas! Gardening, scrapbooking and all art-related activities were just a few of her talents. Her selfless approach, her sincerity and her sense of humour attracted many like-minded people. Agathe had a multitude of friends from all walks of life!
A living celebration of Aggie's life was held on September 15, 2024, for Gabe and Aggie's large immediate families, all 100 of them!
For the extended families and friends we are planning an outdoor Celebration of Life in Ste Anne, MB (in the park across the river from Villa Youville) in June of 2025. Invitations and messages will be sent.
We would like to express our gratitude to the 3E Palliative Care personnel at Riverview Community Hospital for the quality of care Agathe received, given with unfailing compassion, dignity and respect. Should you desire, donations may be made in Agathe's memory to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation.

I first met Agathe when I came back to school in Sainte-Anne. We were in the same class from Grades 10 to 12. Agathe was our cousin Nicole Magnan's best friend at school and after. It was Agathe and Gaby who welcomed Nicole into their home in Charleswood during her last years when Nicole suffered from the cancer that took her away, sheltering her, taking care of her every needs and accompanying her to Emergency when the pain was too much. A generous soul with whom you were sure to have a few laugh out loud moments when visiting. - Posted by: Lucien Chaput (Sister-in-law) on: Nov 30, 2024

The reference to “matriarch” in Agathe’s obit sure made me smile. Memories of childhood events popped in my head. Agathe, the boss, whom we listened to and obeyed at all times (ha ha). She was the kind of person who greeted you with open arms and smiles; a person that you immediately felt a connection with because she heard you and saw you. My dear sister-cousin, without a doubt, you have left your imprint in our hearts. You will be dearly missed but I thank you for all the great memories. Till we meet again. - Posted by: Rachel Bradet (Sister-cousin) on: Nov 30, 2024
