With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Mr. Simpson or Dave (as he liked to be called), on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Seven Oaks General Hospital at the age of 75.
Dave will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dianne, son, Mark, two granddaughters, Elena and Alice, his brother Bob (Skip) (Mary), nephew Michael (Tina) Simpson, sister-in-law, Cathy Foster, nephew, Tyler Foster, nieces and nephews, Pam Kidd, Leigh Malone, Mike (Shelly) Malone and great nieces and nephews.
Dave was predeceased by his father, Bob, in 1962, his mother, Joyce, in 2018, his two sisters, Darlene and Gloria, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Doris Moores, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rodney and Tracy Moores, brother-in-law, Garry Moores, brother-in-law, Ron Foster and nephew, Wade Kidd.
Dave was born on August 27, 1949, and grew up in Winnipeg all his life and lived on Simpson Ave. He was the youngest of four children. Dave married Dianne Moores from Kaleida, MB on June 1, 1974. They bought a house in Transcona and moved in on July 25, 1975. It is still the family home today. On July 24, 1978 their son Mark was born. On June 1st of this year, they reached a milestone of 50 years of marriage.
Dave had a wonderful and fulfilling career as a Sales Agent for Security Storage, Hill Security Van Lines, MacCosham Van Lines, Wawanesa Life Insurance and finally Polar Windows for over 20 years and retired at the age of 71.
He loved his wife and son dearly, Beatles music, travelling, camping, he became a big fan of The Jets games and always washed the dishes.
A special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital for their patience and compassionate care of David over the last few weeks.
Our family is so very grateful for the love and support we received from relatives, friends and neighbours, including phone calls, messages, visits, flowers, cards and all the food.
A Celebration of Life for Dave will be held at Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. (at Henderson Hwy) on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. with lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made online to Seven Oaks General Hospital, www.soghfoundation.ca.
