WAYNE HUTLET

April 29, 1960 - November 16, 2024

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne Hutlet, beloved dad, grandpa, son, brother and friend.

Wayne is predeceased by his parents, Rose and Mel Hutlet.

He is survived by his daughter Kristy (Rob), sister Michelle (Don), brother Rick (Del), nieces, Aimee (Donnie), Nikki (Kevin) and Madison (Ram), nephew Jonathan (Angela), and his beautiful grandchildren, Mylie and Mindy. He also leaves behind great-nieces, cousins, and friends.

Wayne grew up in Flin Flon, Manitoba. He could often be found working at the family store or hanging around with his buddies on Main Street. He started his life working in underground mining but realized that wasn't the life for him. He moved to Winnipeg where he attended Red River College.

When he moved to Winnipeg, he met Cindy Simpson. They fell in love, married, and had their daughter, Kristy. Although their marriage did not last, they maintained a lasting friendship and navigated co-parenting with ease. Wayne enjoyed volunteering for field trips at Kristy's school, and was the best tire swing spinner there was. He always looked forward to their time spent together, especially their many days spent at the movie theatre, camping trips, and road trips.

Wayne loved spending his time outdoors and has camped all over Manitoba, Alberta, Ontario and British Columbia. He also loved travelling to tropical destinations, which he tried to do at least once a year. There he met many great friends who he often stayed in touch with and even met up with on future vacations. He enjoyed meeting friends regularly for breakfast, and always looked forward to his Saturdays at Earls, Moxies or State & Main.

He cherished time spent with his family, often visiting family in Red Deer and Flin Flon over the years. When his parents moved back to Winnipeg, he spent a lot of time visiting for Sunday dinners and playing cards. He was a devoted son, always making sure his parents had everything they needed.

Anyone who knew him, knew his grandchildren were the absolute light of his life. He would do anything to put a smile on their faces, whether that was dressing up as an Elf on Halloween, wearing goofy light up sweaters for Christmas, or playing tickle spider. Although he loved all of his trips, he always said his favourite trip was in 2023 when he went to Disney World with his grandkids. Just seeing their excitement put the biggest smile on his face. He was such a proud Dad and Grandpa, always excited to show off pictures of his family to everyone he met.

He was someone that was always willing to help out and would always be there when you needed him. His positive, upbeat attitude never waivered, which is going to be immensely missed by those who knew him. Even during tough times, he would always look at the positives and proclaim "life is good!".

He was an amazing dad, father-in-law, grandpa, brother and son. Words cannot express the giant hole that he is leaving behind in so many lives that he has touched, a testament to the amazing person that he was. He had the biggest heart and always tried his best to make those around him feel good.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Wayne, Dad, Grandpa - please know how much we love you and miss you.
