DENNIS DEBLAERE

It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, and papas, Dennis DeBlaere, at the age of 84, peacefully with his family by his side.

Dennis will be greatly missed by his wife of 61 years, Claudette, his daughter, Bonnie (Steve); son, Kevin (Susan); daughter, Deanna (Jason), and his 8 grandchildren, Amanda, Tessa, Alyssa, Julia, Jacob, Andrew, Haley and Liam. Dennis was predeceased by his parents Emric and Mary DeBlaere, and his siblings Lawrence, Joyce, Marlene and Yvonne.

Dennis was born in Winnipeg in 1940. He spent his life working in the debt collection industry and was so proud to start Commercial Credit Adjusters (CCA) in 1991 with his children. Golf was his passion, and he enjoyed spending time at Niakwa golf course in the summer and Arizona in the winter. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the cottage at Falcon Lake, either snowmobiling in the winter or watching his kids, and then grandkids, have fun in the water in the summer, while sitting safely on the dock with a cold caesar in hand. He loved when he could gather a group of his family or friends for a glass of wine, a meal and conversation.

Dennis always looked forward to visits from his dear friends Roly and Giselle Laurin, cherishing the laughs they always shared.

The family would like to thank the staff at Action Marguerite St. Boniface for their care and kindness to Dennis over the last year. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Dennis to either Parkinson’s Canada, the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, or the Winnipeg Children’s Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday January 7th, 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.

I remember his friendly smile, especially during visits to the cottage at Falcon Lake, where he always made me feel welcomed.
