Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • I worked for Al when it was Gulf and then Petro Can. That was over 40 years ago. I have so many great memories of him. He was a wonderful man to work for and the whole family treated me well. Sorry I never got over to see him over the years or to pay my respects. My sincere condolences to the entire family. - Posted by: Warren Lelyk (Employee of Al) on: Jun 07, 2025

  • Al and Suzanne, it rolls off the tongue. For there isn’t one without the other. Side by side no matter where you go. Now as an Angel, Al will be with you Suzanne in every breathe you take. 67 years of marriage - wow longer than most people live. What a gift the two of you have been to so many. I am one. I am so grateful, so very blessed to have met the two of you. You two changed life as I knew it. I know that Al will still be doing his handy work from above. He left his Angel here on earth as there is more work to be done. Suzanne you and Al have touched the lives of many. I am very sorry Al has passed from this life, but I believe he is still by your side. In your heart and dreams he will remain. Thank you for sharing the love you have for one another with the rest of us, so we could learn what true love, real love was meant to be. To your family, your dad and papa was one of a kind. See him through the eyes and wisdom each of you carry. I know he loved all so very dearly. Forever grateful to all of you for sharing such a wonderful soul with so many… - Posted by: Karen (Friend) on: Feb 10, 2025

  • My sincere condolences to Suzanne and her family, Al was my first sponsor and was a good friend, He and his family were very helpful to my family in those first years while I was getting on my feet. But I have to admit he scared the daylights out of me when he came over to 12 step me, He loved me telling that story every time I saw him. He'll be missed. Rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: George Munroe (Friend) on: Feb 09, 2025

  • Our sincere condolences to Suzanne and the family. Al and his stories while outside “doing chores” will be sorely missed by us all. He always had a big smile and was always so kind and welcoming to us and our girls. Sending hugs. Mich, Kim, Madison and Alexa - Posted by: The Driedger’s (Neighbours) on: Feb 05, 2025

  • My condolences. I was just reflecting yesterday that my father (Al’s friend) passed away in 2013. So many fond memories of Al and Sue at Moose Lake with Hillary, Shelagh and Tannis!! Forgive the spelling ;-) Al had such great energy and put a tonne of cycles to help my Dad live the last decade of his life sober. Forever grateful!!! All the best - Posted by: Barry Olson (Moose lake!!!) on: Feb 01, 2025

  • Dear Aunt Sue, Michele, Alison, Cathy and Caroline and all of your families: Our hearts go out to all of you on the passing of "Uncle Al", your husband, father, father-in-law, Papa and "Great-Papa". What a life he lived - he was such a character and always entertaining....and so full of stories! He also helped so many people in his life - what a treasure. We are fortunate to have had all the family get-togethers, memories and fun times over the years. May Uncle Al rest in peace - I believe he is visiting with Mom and Dad, and all those who arrived before him. He's likely regaling everyone with even more stories now. Love and God Bless, Monica and Kent and Family - Posted by: Monica Cook (Niece) on: Feb 01, 2025

  • Wonderful good man & family, God bless you! - Posted by: George Moyen (Cousin (Wife)) on: Feb 01, 2025

  • Al was a great neighbour to Lynn and I. We had many great talks over our shared fence. He was definitely an inspiration to me. He lived life the way I try to. A true example of living in the day. If a man’s legacy is his family and friends Al’s is safe. We and countless people he touched will miss him. - Posted by: Paul Fulton (Neibour) on: Feb 01, 2025
