Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDARRELL GEORGE RICHES
It is with a deep and profound sadness that the family of Darrell George Riches announce his sudden passing on January 31, 2025, at the age of 68.
Darrell was predeceased by his parents, Sidney, Isabel and brother Ron. He is survived by his stepson Tim (Heidi), brother David (Betty), nephew Jeremy, sister Janet (Bill), and Cooper (the dog).
Darrell attended General Byng School and Kildonan East Collegiate and became a jack of all trades. He loved fishing, cooking, playing hockey (in his younger years), working on cars and walking the dog. However, carpentry was his true passion and it allowed him to assist anyone who needed a helping hand with a repair or project.
He will be missed by all of his friends that he grew up with, his work colleagues but most of all his family. His spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

Our condolences go out to Darrell's family and friends. I only knew Darrell though my parents, my family and my hubby. My hubby remembers Darrell from the Ft. Garry watering hole, The Pemby. And my dad who is in heaven now with Darrell, spoke often of him. My family talked of Darrell often and their crazy good olden days. So many Ft Garry legends gone way too soon. Darrell will be missed by many. FLY HIGH MY FRIEND. Say hi to my pops for me 🌹 - Posted by: Maureen Smith (Family friend) on: Feb 08, 2025

Ken has known Darrell almost all his life attending grade school together. I met Darrell when Ken and I started dating. Ken and Darrell would talk daily and see each other very often. Many great memories we all had. Darrell was in our wedding party when I Ken and I married. One of our funniest memories of Darrell was when he didn't have a car, and we recently purchased a newer used car. We gave Darrell our older car to use. Red light camera tickets for speeding started showing up in our mailbox. When we gave them to him he looked like a little kid that got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. He would always say "D'oh...that wasn't me" with a sly grin on his face. R.I.P our friend. You will be forever missed. - Posted by: Trudy and Ken Morris (Family friends) on: Feb 08, 2025
