Mavis Marlene Wolfe (Shelvey) left the world on her own terms very early Friday morning, on January 7, 2025. Toward the end she didn't always know who everyone was, but she never forgot who she was.
Mavis was born in Daley Municipality on May 20, 1931. She grew up on her family farm, rode her horse to school, and was happy.
She moved to Brandon as a young adult, fell in love with Steven Shelvey, and had two children - Heather and Hope. Life threw her many curve balls and somehow, she always found her own way. She had a rich life with family, friends, and her sweet little dog Gizmo. She loved and was loved.
Our deepest thanks to the dear and kind staff at Hillcrest, who became her second family. She is gone and we miss her a lot.

Your mom/grandma was a very special lady. I am sure she will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Arlene Skelton (Friend) on: Feb 23, 2025

My deepest sympathies to you, Heather, Hope and families on your loss. I have many memories of you and your Mom from school band days and beyond. She was a wonderful lady. She would always stop and talk with me whenever we would meet by chance, and she would share her latest news. She and my Mom would often reminisce about their times as chaperones on band trips too. There was usually much laughter and great conversation. Losing a Mom is so very difficult. I hope that happy memories of her bring you comfort in the difficult days ahead. Please know that I share in your sorrow. - Posted by: Alana Saint-Pierre (Hattie) (Family Friend) on: Feb 22, 2025
