ANTONIO ALBANESE

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Antonio Albanese, on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Seven Oaks General Hospital, Winnipeg, at the age of 92 years.

Antonio was predeceased by his parents, various in-laws, all his siblings, and his wife of over 50 years, Franca.

Mourning his loss are his daughter Rosa (Shawn) Rawlings of Portage la Prairie, MB, his son Aldo (Claudette); granddaughters, Izabella and Angelina of Winnipeg, sister-in-law Maria Albanese of Winnipeg, his very special friend Linda, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Antonio and his family came to Canada from Italy in August of 1965 – almost 60 years ago. He was employed in the construction industry as a bricklayer/mason for almost his entire life, even running his own company, Albanese Masonry, until his retirement. Later in life he took up gardening, which he was very passionate about. He was also a pretty good cook. He loved to socialize and was great at telling stories, mostly humourous, of the good old days growing up in Italy.

Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St., Winnipeg, with Father Michael Savaramithu officiating. Viewing and condolences will start at 10:00 a.m. Refreshments in the hall will follow the service.

Entombment to follow in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum located in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave.
