TERRANCE JAMES MAKINSON

I am heartbroken to announce the passing of our father, Terrance (Terry) James Makinson, on February 22nd, 2025, in Nanaimo, B.C.

Dad was born and raised in the Austin, Manitoba area, a treasured only child. After graduating from high school in Austin, he pursued a degree from Bemidji State University in Minnesota.



His ever-changing mind found no use for a teaching degree thus he began a long career with CN rail, before dabbling in customizing speakers, vacuum sales, and manufacturing, finally retiring in Nanaimo with his family.

Dad's real passions were wood-working, music, and starting new collections. He was happiest when tinkering in his shop, teaching his family "how-tos", and getting into bidding wars on eBay. He marched to the beat of his own drum and didn't care who knew it.

Forever following that drumbeat are his children: Tarra, Jessie, Kirbie, and Peter, son-in-law Vince, and grandchildren Ashton, Bryce, Naleisa, Jaiyana, Elodie, Malaika, Silas, and Lorelei.

Waiting for him are his parents, James and Dorothy (Lewis) Makinson, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms.

All the days between,

So much time, so much,
