TRACY JOY SMOLINSKI

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Tracy Joy Smolinski, who left us peacefully on March 5, 2025, at the age of 53.

Born on June 13, 1971, she was the beloved daughter of Norma and David Smolinski. She is survived by her sister Laurie (Sergei), brothers, Clarence (Ramona) and Darryl (Denise) and their families who cherished her deeply, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tracy grew up on the family farm in Arborg and attended school in Arborg and Riverton. Although she faced significant challenges and could not communicate with words she spoke to the hearts of everyone who was privileged to know her. She was a teacher of patience, compassion and unconditional love. Tracy was a truly unique person who displayed this amazing quiet strength and courage through any of her challenges. She lived a meaningful and fulfilled life and we are forever grateful for our time with her.

The family would like to extend a special thank you and heartfelt appreciation to the Riverdale Workshop and Riverdale Place homes staff, especially Alex, Susie, and Shirley, for their empathy and compassionate care of Tracy over many years; and also to the Arborg Personal Care Home staff for the kind and wonderful care that they provided.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Association for Community Living - Arborg. These can be mailed to ACL - Arborg, Box 658, Arborg, MB R0C 0A0 or dropped off at the Riverdale Workshop.

Rest in peace with the angels that have embraced you Tracy. We know your spirit will shine brightly forever in the memories of all who loved you.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I met Tracy a little over a year ago. Every time I went to teach music at the Riverdale Workshop, she was there — beautiful, peaceful, and serene. She was truly one of a kind. I know that Jesus was always with her. May my dear friend rest in peace in the arms of the King, where we will all be one day. In the meantime, my prayer is that the Lord brings comfort to all who feel her absence, filling their hearts with the hope of eternal life—without pain, without death, without disability, and without goodbyes. To her loving parents, whom I had the privilege of meeting at the Riverdale Christmas party: you did a beautiful job. Surely, the King sees you as strong soldiers. Wishing you strength and faith.
