RANDALL EUGENE SCHAWORSKI

March 21, 1958 - March 3, 2025

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Randall (Randy) Eugene Schaworski at the Banner Del E Webb Medical Center in Sun City West, AZ, on March 3, 2025 at the age of 66 years.

Randy was born in Russell, MB, on March 21, 1958, and lived his early years in Rossburn, MB. He and his family moved to Brandon, MB, where he resided for his school years. He worked many jobs: as a newspaper carrier, at Consumers Distributing, as a welder for his father John’s trailer business and as a school custodian. He moved to Flin Flon, MB, in October 1978 to work with his brother Dave managing the Flin Flon Hotel that his father had invested in. It was there that he met his future wife, Susan. Susan and Randy moved to Killarney, MB, in 1987 to run the Erin Inn Motor Hotel. They sold it in 1996 and moved to Saskatoon, SK, where Randy ran The Keg Steakhouse and Bar until his retirement in 2020. His son Brett now runs the Brighton Keg.

Randy and Susan were married at Waimea Falls Park, Oahu, HI in 1989. They enjoyed golfing, fishing, hockey and many other activities together. They built their dream cabin at Denare Beach, SK, where they spent their summer months. Together they raised their two sons, Brett and Reid, both of Saskatoon. Randy enjoyed spending time with his children at every age. He instilled good values in them and loved talking with them about their shared interests: sports, history, geography, world events and more. Randy was a compassionate and caring boss and a close friend to many. He loved the Montreal Canadiens, golfing and fishing. Randy and Susan traveled to many destinations across the Caribbean, Hawaii, Mexico and Canada, with and without their children. This winter was their first as snowbirds. Randy loved the golfing, pickleball, bocce ball and other activities Sun City West had to offer. He made his first hole-in-one on January 14, 2025 at the Echo Mesa Golf Course.

Randy is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Susan, and their sons Brett (wife Alexandra) and Reid (wife Nicole), all of Saskatoon. He is also remembered by his siblings: Donna Sherman of Pender Island, BC, Dave Schaworski (wife Misti Bertrand), Robin Gray, and Daphne (husband Rob) Hay, all of Brandon, and their families. Susan’s family was very important to him as well. Randy was predeceased by his parents, John and Anne Schaworski, his brother, Nestor, his brother-in-law, David Sherman and his father-in-law, Bob Barr. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (1200-2300 Yonge Street, Box 2414, Toronto, ON, M4P 1E4).

A celebration of Randy’s life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Park Funeral Home (311 3rd Ave N, Saskatoon).
