Emily Ste Marie, 91, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, at Vista Park Lodge in Winnipeg. She grew up in Peterborough ON and St Boniface where, at 15, she met her future loving husband, Emile. They were married in 1953 at St Boniface Cathedral and, in courtship and marriage, spent 78 fruitful years together.
Emily was a long-time school secretary and creative soul who loved cooking, sewing, crafting, knitting and more. She was passionate about music and singing and, along with Emile, was a devoted member of the St Bernadette's Parish Choir and the Sisters of the Holy Rock chorus. She nurtured enduring relationships near and far in a women's friendship circle called Ladies Club that lasted 50 plus years while she and Emile were founding members of St Francis Mission Circle. She was gifted in hospitality both at home and at the cottage at Falcon Lake. And did she love to travel to Mexico, China, Greece and more.
Emily is survived by her husband Emile, their three children Ron (Jennifer), Dave (Sharon) and Janet (Tom), seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Emily's life will be held at a later date. In her memory, donations can be made to St. Francis Mission Circle c/o 820 Cottonwood Rd, Winnipeg MB, R2J 1G1.

Emily was a beautiful woman with an amazing spirit. I had the pleasure of knowing her from my youth through my career in education. Your mom, grandmother, great-grandmother was a wonderful person.
