It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their mother and grandmother Elsie Evelyn Meilleur on March 23, 2025 at the age of 87.
Elsie was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Effie Buckley; brothers, Bill and Gordon; and sister Anne. After 53 years of marriage, she was also predeceased by her husband Larry (Hilaire) in 2010. She leaves to mourn, her children, Kevin (Mary) and Kim (Rob), grandchildren, Cody, Wyatt, Amber and Emma, and many extended family members and friends.
Elsie and Larry were married in 1957 and spent several years on the Meilleur family farm in Fisher Branch before settling in Winnipeg in 1966.
While raising her family, Elsie worked in health care, first in hospitals before focusing on caring for the elderly in care homes specifically Fred Douglas Lodge.
Along with her husband, Elsie was dedicated to her faith and belief in the resurrection as a Jehovah’s Witness.
The family would like to thank the Landsdowne Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, as well as all of the excellent staff at Extendicare Kildonan for their care and compassion. A special thanks to the nurses and health care workers on the 3rd floor who became her friends.
A private grave side service will follow.

I remember Meilleur Kim and Kevin, We have used Jehovah Witness deaf peoples 2017, My Brother Darrell, I will be going to Thompson, mb Northern in Thompson 477 miles.
