JOANNE EVELYN SCARTH

September 5, 1941 - March 31, 2025 Winnipeg, Manitoba


She is survived by her sons, Jeremy Bowkett, Kevan Bowkett and Owen Bowkett (Brenna).

Daughter of Ronald Stuart Scarth and Evelyn Muriel Scarth (Thrift).

Joanne was a piano graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music and worked as a home care nurse for the Victorian Order of Nurses. In later years, she discovered a love of writing and book editing. She had lifelong friends from childhood in St. James, nursing school, and her spiritual interests.

Ethical Death Care provided cremation services.

The family extend thanks to the staffs at Grace Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre.

  • Jeremy, Kevin and Owen I was saddened to read that Joanne had passed away. After I moved from Winnipeg to Ottawa our relationship was mainly through correspondence, occasional phone calls and a few in person visits. Our last contact was at Christmas time.
