MARION WASHNUK
Surrounded by love, Marion Washnuk passed away at the age of 95 on April 11, 2025.
Marion was predeceased by her beloved husband Michael and their only child Richard.
She is lovingly remembered and survived by her brothers, Don (Connie), John (Luba), and sister-in-law Gladys, as well as her much loved nephews and nieces. She will be dearly missed by daughter-in-law Susan, and her most precious grandsons, Mike (Kristin) and Dan (Josée).
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Marion spent the majority of her life in the Elmwood neighbourhood, where she built a life filled with family and friends. Marion enjoyed making her home warm and inviting to all who entered. Whether it was the annual Boxing Day party or drop by visits, drinks and 'something to nibble on' were always in good supply.
Both her and Mike loved spending time at the cottage in Redditt, Ontario, where extended family resided, creating so many treasured memories. A proud homemaker, Marion also enjoyed working for a time with her cousin Verna (Laurie), building lasting friendships. Marion took joy in knitting and baking, especially shortbread cookies, and her delicious perogies and cabbage rolls were always in demand.
She spent her last few years at Holy Family Care Home where she became known as the resident 'conductor'. She loved to sing and to orchestrate with her hands at the weekly concerts she attended. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Holy Family Care Home for their incredible support and compassionate care.
A private memorial and internment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Holy Family Home.
Marion, Mom, Baba... the unwavering love and support you always showed will forever remain in our hearts. We are comforted in knowing you are now reunited with your beloved Mikey and your most cherished son.

We will all miss Aunty Marion so much. She always was so welcoming to everyone and her sense of humour was contagious. We are comforted in knowing Aunty Marion and Uncle Mike and Richard reunited. Love Glady, Greg, Sheilah and family - Posted by: Glady Borys and Family (Family) on: Apr 26, 2025

I grew up in Redditt and my parents were friends with the Washnuks. I have very fond memories of the treats Auntie Mary would make and how we "annoyed" them when they came to camp. Both her and Uncle Mike were always so kind and we were always excited to see them in the summer. Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Carla Northcote-Brewer (Basso) (friend) on: Apr 21, 2025
