JOSEPH FRANCIS KING

Joseph was born on April 15, 1926. He passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, four days shy of his 99th birthday.

He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Rita (nee Lopes) and his son, Victor. Joseph will be lovingly remembered by his son, Roland (Linda); daughter, Eleanor King-Lamoureux (Richard Lamoureux); grandchildren, Shane, Catalyna (Jordan); great-grandchildren, Angelica and Robbie; niece, Fatima and her daughter Neyla; and many numerous nieces and nephews in Brazil.

Joseph and Rita immigrated to Canada in 1954 from British Guyana, SA. Joseph was a very hard worker and worked tirelessly to support his family. He was "a self-taught man with an exceedingly keen and perceptive mind". Before moving to Canada, he worked in a gold mine. After immigrating, he worked at Saglek, Labrador for the U.S. Air Force on the DEW line. Joseph and Rita moved to Cree Lake, SK where he was in charge of the Environment Canada Weather Station until it closed and he retired. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Joseph was a kind, funny and generous man. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Anne's Care Home for his excellent care in his final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Wildlife Federation.

A private viewing and celebration of Joesph’s life will take place at a later date.
