Sandi Neufeld, of Winnipeg, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the age of 74.
She will be missed by her daughter, Ronilee Neufeld (Doug Hamm) and granddaughter, Evolet; son, David Neufeld (Kristin Kay); partner, Don Estebrook; sister, Esther (Ben) Hiebert; sister-in-law, Marge Schellenberg (Bill Toews); sister, Leona Driedger; sister, Arlene (Les) McLaughlin; 19 nieces and nephews, 33 great-nieces and nephews, five great-great-nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins, and friends in the Delta community.
She was predeceased by her parents, Peter J. and Mary (Klippenstein) Schellenberg, of Rosenfeld; brother Leonard (Joyce) Schellenberg, of Winnipeg; sister Verna (Abe) Heibert, of Winnipeg; brother Edgar Schellenberg, of Altona; brother-in-law John Driedger, of Carman; sister Delores (Ralph) Gammelseter, of Winnipeg; and nephew, Robert Schellenberg, of Sherwood Park, AB.
Sandi was born in Altona. She attended Amsterdam School, a one-room school, from kindergarten to grade 9, before graduating from WC Miller Collegiate.
After graduation, she moved to Winnipeg and began working as an administrative assistant for various businesses. Sandi was hard-working and enjoyed keeping busy with her work and helping others.
After the birth of her children, her focus shifted to supporting them in their many endeavours, including their athletic and musical pursuits. She even joined the parents' jazz band, attempting to play the trumpet.
She loved travelling to tropical climates where she could enjoy her favourite hobbies, dancing, golfing, and sun tanning. Sandi also loved gardening. From childhood, where she spent many, many hours cutting the grass or working the farm's garden with her mom, to her apartment garden boxes later in life, Sandi spent countless hours gardening in the sun. Sandi would do anything to help others with their yards and gardens, and her hard work was a point of pride.
Sandi very much enjoyed her community of friends and neighbours of the Delta Apartments until her passing.
The Family would like to thank the understanding staff at the Health Sciences Centre and all of Sandi's friends and neighbours for their support in her final struggles.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Wiebes Funeral Home in Altona (coffee will be served). Interment will follow in the Rosenfeld Cemetery at the corner of Acheson Avenue and Gertie Street, Rosenfeld.

I have warm memories of Sandra when she worked at Lindenwood Terrace. She worked as the main receptionist and she would greet all the residents and the visitors when they walked in. She was always so happy to see me and we often chatted for quite a while! She loved it that her sister Verna and husband Abe were residents there at the time as well as my Mom. I know she felt needed and appreciated in her role at The Terrace! I always looked forward to seeing her and tried to come when she was working. She would also visit my Mom and was always eager to help her in any way she could! Sandra, you were a special cousin and I will miss you! Audrey Siemens - Posted by: Audrey (Cousin) on: May 03, 2025

I’m writing this on behalf of my deceased husband Tim Hildebrandt, (1951-1998). I often heard comments about his friend Sandra, with whom he had gone to high school in Altona. He had much to say about her warmth, genuineness, the fun and humor they shared as schoolmates. I believe she may have worked on the school newsletter with Tim. This was an important activity in his life. Later, we were friends with Sandi and Herb. When I recognized Sandra’s name, I had to share this piece. - Posted by: Verna Stecy (Acquaintance) on: May 03, 2025
