The family sadly announces the passing of Dennis Gorden Aune, 80, of Thunder Bay, who passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024.
Born on January 27, 1944, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dennis is survived by his loving wife Terri; brother Wayne (Francis); children Lynne (Ronnie), Phil (Stacie), and Debbie (Mike); grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and Terri’s son Stephen and family.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Gail Aune (1991), his parents Gordon and Nellie, in-laws Edwin and Clara Walmsley, and Terri’s parents, Archie and Nancy Dennique.
Dennis grew up in Elm Creek, Manitoba, helping at his family’s Texaco station. He married Gail in 1965 and raised three children in Winnipeg and Brandon during his career with Hudson Bay Wholesale. In 1978, they settled in Thunder Bay, where he lived the rest of his life.
Dennis later found love again with Terri, marrying in 2006 and sharing many happy years together.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Thunder Bay Regional, Dr. M. Azad, the Renal Clinic team, and Dr. Rey Acedillo for their compassionate care.
A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Elm Creek Community Hall, Elm Creek, MB.
