We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Pamela Jane Sullivan after a difficult journey with Alzheimer's. Pamela was 67 years old. She passed peacefully at Bethany Riverview Retirement Home in Calgary with her husband, Tom, at her side.
Pam is survived by her husband, Tom, and their two sons Christopher Alan Reed Sullivan (Michala Allen) and Andrew Thomas Sullivan (Madison Monkman), her grandson, Macklin Martin Sullivan, and by her sisters, Lisa Philp Deitz and Andrea Philp (Paul Downie).
Pam was born on September 16, 1957, in Winnipeg, the middle daughter of Honourable Alan Reed Philp and Maureen Valerie Berringer Philp, both deceased. She moved to Vancouver in 1993 and later Calgary where she lived at the time of her passing.
She attended Oakenwald and Agassiz Drive Elementary Schools, Acadia Junior High and Fort Richmond Collegiate graduating in 1975. She completed a business degree in Finance/Accounting at the University of Manitoba and later became a Chartered Accountant.
Pam was a beautiful, thoughtful, and funny woman who touched family, friends and strangers with her infectious smile and graceful soul. She was a loving wife, a passionate mother, treasured friend, and elegant host. Pam had a genuine interest in others. She had the ability to connect with people of all ages, backgrounds and experiences, and always with openness and without judgment. With her radiant smile and kind soul, anyone who met her felt seen and valued.
Pam devoted her life to Tom and her children as well as their extended family in Manitoba. Annual summer visits from Pam and the boys were greeted with great excitement from the Philp clan in Winnipeg. Visits were filled with lunches at Saucers, Starbucks runs, and pool-side BBQs. With the Sullivan family, celebrations in Winnipeg and at Lake of the Woods were spent with eleven sisters in-law and brothers-in-law and over twenty admiring nieces and nephews. Pam was thrilled to be part of this fun-loving family.
From her early years, Pam was a traveller. Her pursuit of adventure and new experiences led Pam and her husband, Tom to explore over 50 countries on six continents with dreams of seeing so much more together.
Everything that Pam did in her life came from her love for others, and especially in the unconditional love for her sons, Chris and Drew. She was their biggest fan spending hours driving across cities, provinces, and other countries for tournaments and camps. She was a safe place and a foundation where long conversations, relaxing lunches, and a good glass of wine deepened their connection. She left many lessons for her children: Life is better with a smile. Be kind by default. Do the right thing, especially when people aren’t looking. Be generous when you can and show genuine appreciation when receiving. Be there for those that matter the most to you.
A private celebration of life for family and friends will be held at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Winnipeg on Thursday, June 19, 2025. Anyone wishing to attend can email Tom for details at tom.a.sullivan@outlook.com.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada. It’s time to conquer this disease and take back our loved ones.

I was saddened to hear of Pam's passing. I was in Commerce with her and Tom and she was always so nice and pleasant, a wonderful person. I remember when she and Tom started dating that this was going to be a perfect pair. My thoughts to Tom and family. Dwight Peters - Posted by: Dwight Peters (University friend) on: May 17, 2025
