Our heartfelt belated condolences to the Crockatt family. We are thinking of you at this time of grief. I always enjoyed talking on any subjects with David being my neighbor running into while working outside in the yard. - Posted by: Raj Karia/Urmila Karia (friends) on: Aug 21, 2025

David & Norma welcomed us to the neighborhood 1 1/2 years ago, and he mentioned how nice it was to have younger families moving in. Always working on the yard or off to the lake, we will miss his wave on the way. Gone too soon. - Posted by: R & J Tuzzolino (neighbor) on: May 26, 2025

Our father worked for the CPR. David was 7 in 1950 - the year of the Great Flood - we had to evacuate our home in St. Vital. Our mother, myself and two youngest brothers took a train to our grandma's home on the West Coast. At the age of just 7, David was sent east to our other grandparents' home in Oshawa Ontario - all by himself on the train. He recounted that trip to me recently, remembering it as interesting and not frightening at all. His auntie, however, was more than an hour late meeting his train in Toronto, and that was when he got a tad frightened. He just sat and waited. Things were different then........... - Posted by: Judy McPherson (sister) on: May 25, 2025

David was my Commanding Officer as a Sea Cadet, a role model, my friend’s (Cathy) father, and the husband to one of my Mom’s grade two students. I remember David as a man of many interests and talents. Most of my memories are of him just being there, as an observer/onlooker/guardian, as Cathy and I hung out at her house or at the old HMCS Chippawa. My deepest condolences to the entire family. David will be missed, but never forgotten! - Posted by: Heather (Family friend) on: May 23, 2025
