Ruth (née Hamm) Guenther passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, after a brief illness, at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. She was born in Morden on July 31, 1937, and called Winnipeg home for her adult life. She is remembered with joy and sadness by her husband Dave of almost 63 years; her beloved daughters, Shelley and Tracey; dear sons-in-law, Greg Kopp and Paul Walther; and cherished grandchildren, Marta and Lucas Kopp; and Toby and Abigail, Sam, and Ellie Walther.
Many thanks to the capable staff at Grace 5 South for their gentle care of Ruth in these last weeks and especially to all the staff of Lindenwood Manor who have been so kind to Ruth and Dave over the last few months.
A memorial service for Ruth will be held at 10:30 a.m. on May 24, 2025, at Fort Garry MB Church, 1771 Pembina Hwy, Winnipeg. If you plan to attend, please wear bright, cheerful spring colours in Ruth’s honour. She really did not like black!

Ruth was truly a loving...generous and hospitable person. Her...Dave and her kids showed me for the first time in my life what a family should look like. Loving....supportive and honoring.
